Chanel has unveiled its latest high jewellery collection, Reach for the Stars — a bold and brilliant nod to the maison’s signature symbols, presented with fresh energy and striking craftsmanship.

Unfolding across 109 pieces, with 90 entirely new designs, this collection marks a significant moment for Chanel. It is the final work overseen by the late Patrice Leguéreau, the house’s long-time director of fine jewellery, whose influence has shaped Chanel’s recent creative direction.

The designs revisit some of Chanel’s most enduring motifs. The comet, first seen in the house’s 1932 Bijoux de Diamants, returns in graphic forms—elongated, angular, and confidently modern. Pieces like the Blazing Star set combine yellow gold, onyx, and diamond with precision. Meanwhile, the Dazzling Star choker uses diamond pendants to draw the eye, echoing the bold femininity at the heart of Gabrielle Chanel’s original vision.

The lion, a reference to Coco Chanel’s Leo star sign, takes on both sculptural and medallion forms. Whether framed in stars or subtly built into open, gem-set silhouettes, the lion theme gives a sense of strength and control—key values in the Chanel language.

One of the most surprising additions? Wings. Inspired by a famous Chanel quote—“If you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent them from growing”—this motif appears for the first time in Chanel high jewellery. The Wings of Chanel necklace, centred around a 19.55-carat padparadscha sapphire, balances fluidity with structure, designed to move with the body rather than sit statically on it.

Reach for the Stars feels like a finale and a fresh start: a farewell to Leguéreau’s tenure and a statement of Chanel’s creative ambition in the high jewellery space. There’s history here, but it’s not nostalgic — it’s about moving forward, boldly.
